Is it Pasta or is it technically a dumpling? Join us for a fun and delicious cooking class to learn how to make traditional northern Italian style potato gnocchi. Chef Laura will discuss the roots of this delicious northern Italian dish, and demonstrate an easy traditional recipe to create perfect pillowy & chewy Gnocchi. Each class member will make a fresh gnocchi pasta dough in the northern Italian style using potatoes as the pasta base. After the dough is made, Chef Laura will demonstrate rolling technique and the class breaks out into work stations to each roll and form their own Gnocchi to take home. While the pasta is resting, Chef Laura will show how to make 2 simple sauces to pair with the fresh pasta, one olive oil based with herbs & savory vegetables, and classic passata marinara red sauce. Chef Laura will then demonstrate how to cook the fresh pasta to the prefect texture, and the class will get to sample & taste the freshly made Gnocchi with both sauces, if desired. Class will get to take their freshly made raw pasta to cook & enjoy at home. Class includes recipes & instructions for all preparations discussed and demonstrated in the class. Classes are fun and educational, bring your aprons and your appetite's, the classes are full of great things to sample and taste during the event, both the items made in the class and several other tasting items from products available in the store will be available to sample during the class. Class tickets are non-refundable.
